NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING ONMODIFIED PROPOSAL FOR INCREASE AND IMPROVEMENTOF FACILITIES OF TOWN OF RED HOOK BARD LIGHTING DISTRICT
Notice is hereby given that the Town Board of the Town of Red Hook, Dutchess County, will meet at the Town Hall, 7340 South Broadway, Red Hook, New York, on the 25th day of March, 2020, at 7:40 o’clock p.m., prevailing time, for the purpose of conducting a public hearing upon a proposal by said Town Board to modify the proposal for the increase and improve the facilities of the Town of Red Hook Bard Lighting District as hereinafter described, at which time and place said Town Board will meet to consider such proposal and hear all persons interested in the subject thereof and concerning the same.
The Town Board approved a plan for the increase and improvement of facilities of the Town of Red Hook Bard Lighting District, consisting of acquisition of street light facilities including fixtures and arms from Central Hudson, and replacing the fixtures with light-emitting diode (LED) equivalents, and including land or rights in land, original furnishings, equipment, machinery and apparatus required therefor, based on a preliminary report prepared by Crawford & Associates Engineering, PC, engineers licensed by the State of New York. The Town contracted with NYS Power Authority (NYPA) pursuant to Public Authorities Law Section §1005(17) and NYPA has caused its licensed professional engineer Wendell Energy to prepare a detailed design and to solicit proposals for such improvements. The Town is considering the approval of the plan for improvements at an increased estimated total cost of $41,097.91.
The project has been determined to constitute a Type II action as defined under the State Environmental Quality Review Regulations, 6 NYCRR Part 617, which has been determined under SEQR not to have a significant impact on the environment.
Said report describing such improvements is on file in the Town Clerk’s office for public inspection. Following the Town Board’s consideration of the increase and improvement of the consolidated lighting district, the Town Board intends to consider a bond resolution authorizing financing of such improvements.
