2020 List of Updated Speed Limit Postings

The Town of Red Hook Highway Department has been updating illegal 20 and 30 mph speed limit signs as part of the Federally mandated MUTCD Program for retro-reflectivity and visibility of outdated signs. Each year, as the budget allows, we install 35 mph signs that comply with the Town Wide 35 mph speed limit. Having these signs in place allows for speed enforcement. If a speed limit posting is illegal or missing, then the speed limit on that portion of road automatically reverts to 55 mph and speeding tickets will not hold up in court.

Below is a listing of the intended sign replacement areas for 2020:

Grandmour Drive

Starbarrack Road

Vosburgh Road

Williams Road

Albie Road

Alder Street

Aspinwall Road

Beech Street

Chestnut Street

Dogwood Street

Elm Street

Fir Street

Knox Road

Whalesback Road

Kelly Road

Cornell Avenue

Amherst Street

Apple Ring Road

Fruitbud Lane

Columbia Avenue

Harvard Street

Thayer Lane

Kelly Road

Mill Road

Respectfully yours,
