Reorganization Meeting Red Hook Town Board
The Town of Red Hook Reorganization Meeting was held January 9, 2004 at 8:00 p.m. at the Town Hall 7340 So. Broadway with the following in attendance:
Supervisor – Marirose Blum Bump
Councilman – James Ross
Councilman – Harold Ramsey
Councilwoman – Sue Crane
Councilwoman – Jean Bordewich
Highway Superintendent – Wayne Hildenbrand
Deputy Town Clerk – Susan McCann
Absent – Town Clerk Margaret E. Doty
Supervisor Blum Bump opened the meeting with the Pledge Allegiance to the Flag.
Supervisor Blum Bump took this opportunity to welcome everyone to the first Town Board meeting for 2004.
Tonight’s meeting of the Town Board will focus on the town reorganization for 2004. The regular reports from department heads, boards and committees will be read at the next business meeting at 8:00 PM on January 23rd.
Supervisor Blum Bump explained that the public comment period will be held at the end of the reorganization meeting.
Recycle stickers for 2004 are now available in the Town Clerk’s office during regular business hours. The Town Clerk’s office will be open Saturday January 24th and Saturday January 31st 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Residents of the Town of Red Hook will pay $12; non-residents may apply at a cost of $100, at the discretion of the Town.
Red Hook residents who wish to volunteer for a town committee or board should submit a short e-mail or letter to the Supervisor by January 20th. The e-mail address is mariroseblumbump@redhook.org or supervisor.org.
Supervisor Blum Bump said the purchase of development rights proposal due at the County Planning Dept. by Jan. 31st is one of the pieces of business we’ll be working on. We will appoint a committee to evaluate proposals and we will set a public hearing date.
Motion by Supervisor Blum Bump, seconded by Councilwoman Crane to appoint the Agricultural Advisory Committee to serve until a separate committee is appointed.
Supervisor Blum Bump asked if there is any discussion.
Councilman Ross asks is this on an interim basis…. especially on this one particular purchase we’re talking about.
Supervisor Blum Bump said yes until we have a formal committee.

The public hearing will be at 7:15 p.m. on January 23rd before the Town Board Meeting.
Motion by Councilwoman Bordewich, seconded by Councilwoman Crane that we have the public hearing at 7:15 p.m. on January 23rd.

Supervisor Blum Bump reminds everyone that the Town Board workshop is January 21st at 8:00 p.m. and the Town Board meeting is January 23rd at 8:00 p.m.
At this time Supervisor Blum Bump proceeded with the reorganization. The appointments not made tonight will be made at future Town Board meetings.
Our official Town Board meeting nights will be the 2nd Tuesday-business meeting, 1st & 3rd Tuesdays will be workshops and the 4th Wednesday will either be a workshop or business meeting if needed. All meetings are at 7:30 p.m. This starts in February.
The Supervisor will be available to the public one hour before Board meetings and workshops or appointment.

Motion by Councilwoman Bordewich, seconded by Councilman Ramsey that we approve the 2004 appointments as read on the attached sheet.

Supervisor Blum Bump said we will now have a public comment period.
Councilman Ross asked Supervisor Blum Bump if the rest of our reorganization items will be determined by our next meeting. Supervisor Blum Bump responded yes, at future meetings, hopefully within the next few meetings.
Marcy Appell questioned what the public hearing is for?
It pertains to the PDR.
Councilwoman Crane said an application in process on the Steiner Farm and we need a public hearing.
Councilman Ross said we need to do it before end of month for the county.
Councilwoman Bordewich asks if anyone has any further comments.
A resident Steve says he wasn’t present for the budget area but you approved the salaries. What are the salaries?
Councilwoman Bordewich said its lengthy consisting of Town Employees & Town Board members. Its public info so we can make it available.
Councilwoman Crane said it’s available at the Town Clerks Office.
Supervisor Blum Bump recognizes County Legislator Marc Molinaro who if it’s acceptable to the board would update them on county activities and provide a report at regular meetings.
Councilwoman Bordewich said the agenda is prepared a few days ahead if you want to come in just let us know.
There were no further comments.
Motion by Councilwoman Bordewich, seconded by Supervisor Blum Bump and carried unanimously the meeting adjourned at 8:20 p.m.
