The Red Hook Senior Services Committee will be sponsoring a Medicare presentation by Nina Lynch of the Office of the Aging. The presentation is targeted for individuals who will be qualifying for Medicare in the near future. It will take place from 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM on April 20, 2010 at the Red Hook Town Hall.

In conjunction with the IRS, the AARP Tax Aid Foundation is providing free tax preparation assistance for senior citizens at the Starr Library in Rhinebeck every Thursday between 9:00 AM and 12:00 noon. Time slots are usually in one hour blocks and appointments are necessary. Call (845)418-4821 in advance or e-mail cmooneytaxaid@gmail.com.

CALL FOR VOLUNTEERS FOR THE READ ALOUD PROGRAM!

The Senior Services Committee is calling for volunteers for the READ ALOUD PROGRAM being conducted at the Red Hook primary school. Volunteers will read to groups of children from Kindergarten to Grade 2.

You can volunteer to read for fifteen to twenty minutes for one visit or for as many visits as you wish. To volunteer or to obtain further information, please call 758-2241 and press #4 when you are prompted to choose an option. Ask for the Principal, Donna Gaynor, or the Read Aloud Program. The school and the children thank you.
